Donzi 22 ZX

Beitrag von TeamDonzi »

Hallo zusammen,

Gruss

Team Donzi

Hi Team Donzi

If you want to go faster with your current 454 just try a B1 24 lab finished, you might see a 2 to 4 mph gain :D

About replacing your engine...it depends...

If you want a nearly bulletproof and always "turn key" engine (closed cooling system, reasonable fuel consumption, guardian system etc) just go with the 496 HO (425 HP) DO NOT SUPERCHARGED IT   without replacing internal parts...CMI headers will give you +- 60 HP...or with Raylar heads & kit + 525 HP

If you prefer the supercharged way...the 502 is the better candidate

Hallo Team-Donzi,

:!: WILLKOMMEN TEAM DONZI :!:

Ein wunderschönes Boot, was du da hast :!:

@Picton:

By the way der Prop ist ein lab-finished Mercury Racing Prop.
Kleiner aber netter See.

BTW Donzi who did the lab finishing ? Assuming you have a 1.5:1 gear ration and spinning your 24 P @ 5000 RPM you'll have a theoretical speed of 76 MPH... As previously stated, your top is 63 MPH meaning a 17 %  prop slip...which is too high...

There is more speed in that combo with the right setup :D

I have know I idea who did the lab finishing. I thought Mercury, because the box was originally labelled by mercury racing. I bought the prop at teague custom marine original packed.

the previuos bota owner had a mirage 21 on the boat???

If it has been done by Merc Racing Division it should be fine !

I assume that your prop is still brand new, never damaged or locally repaired ???

Maybe your tachometer (as most are) is a little too optimistic (showing 5000 RPM but the engine really turning at 4850 -4900 RPM) which might explain your excessive prop slip...

Sorry to hear you can't make it to the Poker Run...You could have tried another 24 lab finish just to compaire results...

Hi, now I see the problem: I can´t turn 5000 RPM. I just get 4600 which is I think in the recommended RPM range?

Prop was brand new when I did the testing in summer. Unfortunately I got a scratch on my last day. Is it pssoble to repair a lab-finished prop. Who can do taht. Has someone experience ? What is with Fa. Groever??

If you are turning that prop @ 4600 RPM you'll have a nearly PERFECT 10 % slip

Max RPM's / rev limiter depends what engine (carb / injection) / year you have...Give me more details and I will look it up

If it's only a slight scratch on your prop, just leave it..

If really damaged...We always work with a local prop repair shop who does some very nice repairs (even welding on blades etc) but the Labfinished finition & performances might disappear...

Untill now, I have never found a real specialist who can do / repair the Labfinishing in Europe.
In general, we sent our Lab props back to the manufacturer or to the real specialists like Throttle Up or BBlades...

But this means very high shipping cost (Europe <=> USA) + local repair cost (not cheap!) + shippin cost (USA <=> Europe)...a lot of custom trouble "exporting / re-importing" etc.

So we only do for very very expensive props (Herings 5 or 6 blades, Merc racing cleavers, #6 props etc...)

For a Bravo 1 4 blade it is too expensive...just have it "locally" repaired, use it as a spare prop (or sell it to offset cost) and buy a new Labfinished one...
