Frankscarab mich mal vorstellen!
prop, Full Hydrolic Lenkung , K-plans trimtabs

Sascha

I think we have "a little" experience with four blade props; from Hydromotive 4 blades, over Vensura or Rev 4, Machs etc. to the ultimate Merc Racing labfinished ones. Frank
If more info needed, just ask
BTW What prop are you running right now? Topspeed ? RPM's?

Hi Nordic , Thanks for your reply
This moment I do have a Mirage plus, Lab finished 25P
I only have had Full trottle and perfect trim a couple times
It did 5100 RPM and 75.6 MPH on GPS
Ohter time 5000 RPM and 73.6 MPH
So, I think my prop has about 7 or 8% slip! (very good)
Between 3500 RPM and 5000 RPM the boat is like a rocket and you can feel there's more than enhough power
So I think a 26 4 blad or a 27 3 blad or maybe 28 3 blad will go?
With a 4 blad maybe their will be more handling and acceleration, but the resistance is more than a 3 blad!
I'm looking to buy some second hand props to try something out
It's also not easy to find the right trim position between the taps and the drive when going for top speed!
When I give to much Tab trim I can't give only a minimum of drive trim becaurse when I give more the prop is going to ventilate!
Or is it better to go for a cleaver type of prop?
Does this fit onto a Bravo XR drive?
When I'm good informed a cleaver type ventilates?
Gr
Frank

@Nordic Peter 26" Lab Bravo One

Prop 496HO
Viele dank fur deine antword Michael

Re: Prop 496HO
@ Frankscarab; I've some problems with your numbers / prop pitch..Frankscarab hat geschrieben:Denke das eine 26" 4-blatter mal gut ist?

I've run your speed numbers through our slip calculator; assuming you have 1.5 drive ratio, spinning a 25P @ 5100 RPM = 75,6 MPH on GPS ?? giving a unrealistic 6 % prop slip
Only 6% prop slip is very unlikely for that (old style, non stepped and V not cat) hull... a 3 blade prop... specially is really labfinished...
Our 28 ft Heats with 496 HO (without CMI's) are all running 24P (or 26P labfinished) most of the time, hitting the rev limiter... 496 HO with CMI's turned this year 26P and / or 28 P labfinished. Same prop (28 P labfinished) for Checkmate with 500 EFI (28 ft boats while yours is 22 ft)
I always repeat, it's really hard to calculate / advise if you don't have correct numbers to begin with / or if you don't know exactly who did the labfinishing or repitching.
I also know the Signature BS1" 15 1/8" x 26 prop which has to be considered as a low performance (low cost) prop..copy from a copy from a copy... perfect to use as a spare prop but NO way a high performance prop.
It's hard to follow your thoughts...You have all the best and very expensive stuff like a 496 HO and the best CMI headers and now trying to save a few hunderd euro's on a prop ?? 496 HO with decent prop will run faster / better then 496 HO with CMI's and "bad" prop....
Cleaver props might give you the ultimate topspeed but too much inconvenients for daily use (poor acceleration / poor midrange / prop blow out etc.
Basing on your numbers, I would start testing with a 26P 4 blade and depending on those test results deciding to go with the 26P or 28 labfinished
We have those props in stock & please feel free to recontact us for our prop test program

Prop 496HO
I don't try to go dutch, but I looked at the web and found the Signature props and they looked good to me
Now I know this isn't a good prop and they are cheap because they are a copy of a copy!
Thanks for the info
About the figures it's hard to read exact the RPM's , but I think the GPS is right!
I have a smartcraft gauge and a livorsi gps antenna, I hope they will show the right data
So maybe I didn't read out the RPM gauge right
The first time I will go out boating , i'm going to use also a handheld gps
and someone to read the RPM's
Frank
