reduzierblech im krümmer am 496 HO ???
hat jemand erfahrung ob es was bringt das reduzierblech was zwischen krümmer und riser was seienmäßig beim 496 HO verbaut ist zu entfernen??? oder ob man es sich sparen kann oder warum ist so eine reduzierung überhaupt verbaut??

Wenn Du den Motor ausmachst, soll es kondensierendes Wasser zurückhalten, damit es nicht runter bis an die Ventille läuft.
Die neuen Dichtungen im Small Block haben das auch so jetzt drinn.

Ich habe die Dinger rausgenommen. Laut Powerboat bringt es 25 PS. Laut meinem Drezahlmesser 150 rpm.
Ist schon komisch, dass nur der HO die Dinger drin hatte. Der 496 Mag hat die Reduzierbleche. Laut Powerboat hat Mercruiser so die Leistung des 496HO gedrosselt, um den Mehrpreis zum 500EFI zu rechtfertigen.
Wurde hier auch schon mal groß diskutiert, mal schauen ob ich es noch finde.

Das stimmt so nicht auch der 496 mag hat diese Bleche jedenfalls nach
